Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 16, 2026

Last Updated: April 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Digital Box Studios ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the IP Scanner: Network Tools iOS application (the "App") and the iptoolspro.com website (together, the "Services").

We designed the App to operate with minimal data collection. Most of the App's core functionality — scanning your local network, inspecting devices, port scanning, DNS lookup, WHOIS, and ping — runs entirely on your device and does not transmit your scan results to us or any third party.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information processed on your device only (never transmitted)

  • Local network scan results, including IP addresses, MAC addresses, hostnames, open ports, and device labels you create, are stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. We never receive, see, or transmit this data.
  • Wi-Fi SSID, when you grant Location permission, is used solely to label scan history for your convenience and stays on your device.

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device information: device model, iOS version, app version, language, region, and time zone — used for crash diagnostics and compatibility.
  • Usage analytics: anonymized events such as screen views, feature taps, scan counts, and session duration.
  • Crash and performance data: reported via Apple's standard diagnostic tools, which you can control in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
  • IP address: briefly processed by our hosting providers and advertising partners for fraud prevention, attribution, and network routing. We do not retain your IP address in identifiable form.
  • Advertising Identifier (IDFA): only if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, no IDFA is collected and ads shown are non-personalized.

1.3 Information you provide

  • Subscription status: when you purchase IP Scanner Pro, Apple shares subscription state (active / expired / refunded) with us via RevenueCat. We do not receive your name, email, Apple ID, credit card, or billing address.
  • Support communications: when you email us, we receive whatever you include in your message.
  • Push notification token: if you allow notifications, Apple and OneSignal issue a device-specific token used to deliver alerts.

2. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party SDKs and services. Each provider has its own privacy practices, summarized below with links.

Provider Purpose Data shared Link
Apple App distribution, In-App Purchases, StoreKit, SKAdNetwork Purchase receipts, device diagnostics Privacy Policy
RevenueCat Subscription management Anonymous app user ID, subscription events Privacy Policy
Google AdMob Advertising (banner, interstitial) IDFA (with ATT consent), IP address, device info, coarse location Advertising Policy
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) GDPR/CCPA consent collection Consent state AdMob Help
Google Analytics for Firebase Anonymized product analytics Anonymous install ID, event data Privacy and Security
OneSignal Push notifications Device push token, anonymous user ID, notification events Privacy Policy

We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not allow any of the providers above to use your data for their own independent purposes beyond what is necessary to deliver the service to you.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate and maintain the App and its features.
  • Verify and manage your subscription entitlements.
  • Deliver push notifications you have opted into.
  • Show advertising to non-subscribed users and measure its performance.
  • Diagnose crashes, improve performance, and develop new features.
  • Comply with applicable laws and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On first launch (or on request), the App shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asking permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. This permission controls whether AdMob can use your IDFA for personalized advertising.

  • If you allow: You may see ads more relevant to your interests. AdMob measures campaign performance using your IDFA.
  • If you decline: IDFA is not accessible to the App. You still see ads, but they are not personalized, and attribution uses only Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork framework.

You can change this decision any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

5. Legal Bases for Processing (EU / UK / EEA)

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: providing the App, processing your subscription.
  • Legitimate interests: app security, fraud prevention, anonymous analytics, basic (non-personalized) advertising.
  • Consent: personalized advertising (ATT + UMP), push notifications, analytics where required by local law. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligations: record-keeping, responding to lawful requests.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share information only:

  • With the third-party providers listed in Section 2, limited to what is necessary for the service.
  • With law enforcement or other authorities when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, in which case affected users will be notified.

We do not sell or rent personal information.

7. Data Retention

  • Local network scan data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
  • Subscription records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat for the duration required by Apple's receipt validation and our tax/accounting obligations (typically up to 7 years).
  • Anonymized analytics events are retained for up to 26 months, consistent with Google Analytics defaults.
  • Server logs containing IP addresses are kept for up to 30 days for security purposes, then deleted or anonymized.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the App or by other means. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
